Program Goal
Secondary mathematics feeder-pattern Numeracy Specialists, in collaboration with the Secondary Mathematics Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment departments and the Executive Principal, will promote and support the implementation of an aligned curriculum in order to realize student growth and achievement in mathematics, as measured by state and local assessments.

Program Design
Elementary and Secondary mathematics feeder-pattern Numeracy Specialists:
· provide instructional coaching to mathematics teachers in each feeder pattern;
· plan, develop, and implement a vertically aligned mathematics program;
· provide feedback on curriculum, instruction, and assessment documents and assist feeder pattern teachers and administrators with their implementation;
· participate in ongoing professional development.

Numeracy Specialists’ Responsibilities
Elementary and Secondary mathematics feeder-pattern Numeracy Specialists will:
· support and monitor fidelity of implementation of the district-wide mathematics program through coaching, co-teaching, and focused observations;
· facilitate professional learning sessions to teachers in the feeder patterns;
· analyze relevant school and feeder pattern data to inform instructional decision making;
· participate in half-day Numeracy Specialist professional learning sessions and school site visits; and
· attend additional training, as needed, to increase their background knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
